Visit to Gurudwara

’’Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring a change. Learning is more than absorbing facts, it is acquiring understanding.”

The school organised an educational outing to Gurudwara (sector 9 )for the students of classes Nursery & KG within the school hours.

The main objective was to make the children understand the different religions and cultures. The tiny tots were very excited about this new experience. They followed the procedure and accordingly covered their heads, and washed their hands and feet before entering the Gurudwara. All the learners were amazed to see the place as it was beautifully decorated with flowers and had an elevated platform that looked majestic. They also listened to the Shabad (hymn) which was being played on a harmonium with their heads bowed down and hands folded. They paid their due respect to the holy book –‘Guru Granth Sahib’ as they bowed in front of Granth Sahib and did a parikrama. They also relished ‘Kada Prasad’ as they were leaving the worship place. They also learned a new way of greeting people by saying “Sat Sri Akal” meaning “Truth is the name of God”.
