Clear enough to help, open enough to create

Open a guideline for the detail. If you are unsure whether your idea fits, you may still send it for private review.

01Let your own voice lead.

Share original writing or creative work in your own words. A parent may help a child type, spell or translate, but the child's ideas should remain the child's. Do not present AI-generated writing as a student's original work.

02Choose one meaningful idea.

A focused experience, question or idea is often stronger than a list of achievements. Your contribution does not need to praise the school and does not have to be about education.

03English and Hindi are welcome.

Younger children may dictate their words. Artwork and photo essays should include a short explanation so readers understand the creator's intention.

04Protect privacy.

Leave out addresses, phone numbers, bus routes, health details and other sensitive information. Do not identify classmates, staff or other families without permission.

05Use material you have the right to share.

Use your own writing and images. Credit facts, quotations and sources. Tell us when an image or idea belongs to someone else, and make sure you have permission to use it.

06Be respectful, accurate and clear.

Different opinions are welcome. Separate personal opinion from factual claims, avoid rumours or accusations and include reliable sources for claims that readers may need to verify.

07Participation is a choice.

Students should want to contribute. A parent or guardian should submit with a student and confirm the child is comfortable with the piece and any proposed public credit.

08Readable matters more than rigid.

Use a clear title and short paragraphs. Suggested lengths are 150 to 350 words for younger students, 300 to 700 for older students, and 400 to 800 for adults. Shorter work and visual work are welcome too.

Contribute when you are ready

Your work stays private until every next step is agreed.

We review submissions for originality, clarity, relevance, accuracy, respect and privacy. We may suggest edits, but selected writers approve the final version and public credit before publication.

For student work, the school verifies parent or guardian permission for the final text, name, artwork, photograph and intended use. This submission form is not publication consent.

Questions before you contribute

What is Underlined?

Underlined is the Manaskriti community blog, bringing together selected articles, ideas, perspectives, stories and creative work.

Who can contribute?

Current Manaskriti students, parents or guardians, and teachers are invited to submit. Students should submit with a parent or lawful guardian.

What kinds of writing are welcome?

Articles, ideas, personal experiences, everyday stories, opinions, reflections, explanations, book reflections, imaginative writing and other thoughtful original work are welcome.

Does my contribution have to be about school?

No. You may bring your own subject when it is appropriate to share with the Manaskriti community.

Can I submit an article, opinion, poem or artwork?

Yes. Artwork or a photo essay should include a short explanation, and all material must be original or used with permission.

Can I write in Hindi?

Yes. Contributions in English or Hindi are welcome.

Can a parent help a younger child?

Yes. Typing, spelling, translation and dictation help are welcome, while the child's own ideas and voice should remain intact.

Do I need to be an experienced writer?

No. A clear, honest idea matters more than polished or formal writing. The editorial team can discuss light changes with selected contributors.

Will my submission be published automatically?

No. It remains private for review and publication is never automatic or guaranteed.

Can the school suggest changes?

Yes. The team may suggest edits for clarity, length, accuracy, privacy or safety. The final version is agreed with the writer before publication.

How will my name appear?

You can share a preference in the form. The final public byline is confirmed separately, and anonymous publication may be considered.

Can I submit more than one piece?

Yes. Please submit each one separately so its title, file and permissions remain clear.

What happens after submission?

The editorial team reviews the private entry and contacts selected contributors using the supplied email to discuss edits, credit and separate publication permission.

Is this form suitable for urgent school concerns?

No. Underlined is a community blog, not an urgent reporting channel. Please contact the school directly about time-sensitive safety, wellbeing or school matters.

Read a line. Add a line. Keep the conversation moving.
